As I am writing this post, a new feature has become available on the blog, something I had been thinking about for a long time- you can now shop the pieces I own and love so do check it out. I wanted to collect all the things I mention on my Instagram and YouTube channel in one place to make it easier for you. Also, the shopping section is divided into 3 categories: Fashion, Beauty and Home to save you some time if you want more specific items.
Being an incurable and not so anonymous shopaholic, spending the money I don’t have on the (beautiful, beautiful) things I don’t need, I’ll be updating the section regularly (shall we say, weekly?) so keep an eye on that!
As the shopping thingy is now available I thought what’s a better way to celebrate it than creating a post on my personal style? I mainly want to let you know about all the amazing brands that create pieces of my dreams as well as incredible Insta babes whose accounts constantly inspire me- I truly believe they’ll inspire you too!
Since I remember I’ve always had a strong sense of personal style. This is by no means to say it was impeccable, not at all- looking at my old photos I usually wonder what the hell I was thinking. My style has changed a lot and it keeps evolving as I love to play with it (isn’t it what fashion was made for?) but there’s one thing that hasn’t changed since I was a kid- I always knew straight away which pieces I loved and which were a huge no-no for me. Whatever I was wearing it was always a reflection of my personality, every single piece of clothing I owned, no matter how questionable a choice it was, just felt right at that particular moment. And that’s what a sense of style is to me- making sure that whatever you wear, you feel absolutely great in it and the outfit makes your personality shine through.
There’s nothing worse than wearing a beautiful outfit that you don’t feel yourself in, and the others can easily tell that too. Probably, I shouldn’t be defecating in my own nest right now but I still think that this one is sadly, very true with bloggers attending the fashion week. Obviously, I’m not talking about everyone as there are amazing boys and girls who wear the pieces that simply scream their names, but there are also those who look so sad and uncomfortable in these brand new clothes with price tags hidden inside that they make you feel kind of sorry for them if that makes sense? I mean, what’s the point? Why would you try so hard to be someone else while the best you can do is do you?
Anyway, since the shopping section is all about the pieces I like, I should probably tell you about my style so that you know what to expect. I’m doing my best to take more photos and upload them on Insta as well as to create outfit posts in here in the future but for now, let me just use the keyboard to give you an idea. I’d say, although my style is pretty eclectic, I always love a bit of quirky, a bit of vintage, a bit of statement, a bit of rock’n’roll. I usually go for fairly simple pieces, but while putting them together into outfits, with all the combination of textures, patterns and colour clashes I don’t mind being over the top. To show you what I mean I wanted to illustrate this post with a few Insta accounts that I absolutely love as the girls behind them are super cool and keep inspiring me on a daily basis.
Also, the places I buy my clothes to create those playful, slightly vintage, slightly edgy looks include both independent brands and well known retailers, e.g.: H&M, Ganni, Monki, Baum & Pferdgarten, & Other Stories, The Kooples, Zara, Scotch & Soda, Topshop, Gestuz, Asos, Fred Perry, Alexa Chung, Urban Outfitters, Hoffman Copenhagen and Acne Studios as I think they hit the spot on with their pieces. Especially that these days we’re spoilt for choice so even on the high street you’ll be able to find something a bit quirky and different.
Alright, enough of mumbling, I hope you’ll enjoy the new tab- happy shopping! x
