Hello everyone! Here we are with the brand new Foodie Friday where I’m going to tell you about three most amazing places for breakfast, lunch or naughty cake I’ve had a great pleasure to visit lately. Hope you enjoy!!!
Location: Broadway Market, E8 4QJ
Average price: £35/ lunch for 2
Type of menu: cafe food made from locally sourced ingredients
Interior: Very simple, raw, minimalist, New Zeland- inspired. Tons of wood in light colours give you that Scandinavian feeling.
Recommendations: Toasted banana bread is a must! OMG, they have the best flippin’ banana bread on this planet!!! Seriously! You can order it with yogurt and honey but for me plain one (served with butter) is just perfect. Really, you have to try it!!! If you’re up for lunch be prepared for generous portions of simple, fresh food. I really enjoyed vegetarian mezze plate with grilled veggies as well as corn fritters- both dishes come with home-made chilli jam which is -ah!- simply epic!
What I love about the place: The food is absolutely fantastic (did I mention banana bread?!) but another thing that I like about The Batch is them being all about East London, sourcing ingredients locally which I think is great. Another good news: their coffee comes from Allpress!
Downsides: I don’t really think there are any!
Location: Belgravia, SW1X 9AL
Average price: £30/ breakfast for 2, a bit more for lunch
Type of menu: vegetarian, raw food, healthy
Interior: Simple and fresh with green plants and pastel details
Recommendations: Treat yourself to the acai bowl from the all day breakfast menu, it’s lush! They also have a great lunch buffet and a generous selection of healthy treats so you can always try something new!
What I love about the place: Super friendly staff and tons of different options when you’re trying to loose weight or simply eat healthily. Raw Press is definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.
Downsides: In my opinion the cafe is quite pricey for what you get but then again, when you’re in Belgravia that’s sort of taken for granted, isn’t it.
Location: Hackney, E8 1HY
Average price: No idea! I’m sorry, it sort of sucks but when you get your eyes on their paradise interior and food presentation out of this world, prices will be the last thing to think about! I guess the price range must be something quite typical for the area, not the cheapest one but oh-so flipping’ worth the hype!
Type of menu: cafe menu with insanely looking cakes and smoothies. And yes, these are Crosstown doughnuts!
Interior: O. My. Gosh. Can I move in please?! Bricks, pink and dozens of plants everywhere give this place that lovely Cali vibe with never-ending summer which, being in London you’ll soon realise, is twice as precious!
Recommendations: Whatever you go for, you’ll love it. Smoothie bowls are insane here, so are drinks and cakes. My perfect breakfast would be the the pink yoghurt bowl, Unleash The Dragon smoothie and tons of coffee of course! My only advice is: arrive early. As early as possible or you’ll spend half a day in the queue!
What I love about the place: Every bloody thing! Lush food, breathtaking presentation, cool interior, friendly staff, nice books and relaxed atmosphere. Oh, I’m also a huge fan of ‘no laptop at weekend’ policy! And one of the prettiest regular takeaway cups I’ve ever seen!
Downsides: There are two. First of all it’s such a shame Palm Vaults can’t sort get rid off all the neighbours and make the place three times as big. Or perhaps four. Another one is the food is sooooooooo pretty that it almost makes you feel guilty to eat it! Yet for the same reason you’re not able to resist which gets flipping Antigone out of you!
What is your favourite spot for a lazy Saturday breakfast- can you beat mine? 😉 x
